Guidelines for GLITCH Film Festival
Film/video art must either
1) Be made by a QTIPOC filmmaker on any subject
2) Be a film made by a filmmaker of any identity that is either a documentary featuring queer and/or trans and/or intersex people of colour or a feature/fictional short that features QTIPoCs as one or more of the central characters.
By QTIPOC we mean a filmmaker who identifies as queer (LGBTIQA+) and/or trans and/or intersex who is also a person of colour.
By people of colour we mean BME people, for example, south & east asian, mixed, romany, indigenous peoples of australasia, the americas, the islands of the atlantic & the indian pacific, black, middle eastern, etc. etc. – all of the many different peoples who are the majority of the world.
*More than one entry may be submitted. Each must be submitted via a separate form.
*ONLY selected filmmakers will be contacted. For GLITCH submissions you will hear from us by the end of November.
*Please send HIGH QUALITY screening copies
*Films should ideally have English subtitles for accessibility for deaf/hard of hearing audiences.
*Send us a link to your film on vimeo/youtube/dropbox & make sure that you supply a password OR make it downloadable.
*Please remember to include 2 high resolution stills (300 dpi) or a press pack if available.
*Any screening fees will be paid via Paypal. If you live in country where paypal is not available and we accept your film we will make an alternative arrangement.
*We regret that posted films will not be returned unless return postage is supplied.
*Films are posted & returned at your own risk. GLITCH Film Festival assumes no responsibility for any films that are lost in transit.
*Region 2 PAL discs ideally
*High Quality compressed files (H264) will be required for screening if already subtitled, otherwise non-compressed versions in order for us to add in subtitles.
*Please make sure the disc is readable on a mac.
*Make sure DVD is labelled with film & director

- Print & post to: Digital Desperados C/O GCVS, The Albany, 44 Ashley Street, Glasgow, G3 6DS. Scotland, UK.
*If posting files from outside the EU then mark your package with the following: No Commercial value. For Cultural Purposes Only + Value under $5
*Digital Desperados cannot pay for customs, or postal fees and we regret any packages requiring such will not be collected.
Please do not be discouraged if your film has not been accepted. We choose films on a variety of criteria including how it fits in the programming range for the year in question. For example if we have two films submitted that are significantly similar we may just pick one. As is usual with film festivals we are unable to give feedback or enter into correspondence about our selection process. We regularly post information on our twitter and facebook accounts about other film festivals with free or low cost submission policies.
